About Betty LaRue
I have been involved in creative works for years. Watercolors, oils, jewelry creation, and writing. Some years ago, after undergoing treatment for breast cancer, I abandoned my partly written novel and bought my first serious camera, a Nikon, believing life is too short not to do something that gives me pleasure. Although writing was stimulating and fun, I longed to do something that got me out of the house and into nature. Within months, I abandoned film and went to a Nikon digital camera. Recently, I went to a new system with Fuji. I now shoot an X-T2. My love for the creative process, nature and the animals that live in nature influences my work, although I have branched out in many areas of photography besides...

Your images expresses your love for photography and the simple beauty around us. Well executed textured photo compositions are fun to do and to display in any home. I did so like your recent comment on the ALAMY forum which I came across by chance, allow me to quote: "I've gotten where I am with photography because when I joined the Nikonians, I asked questions and experienced photographers tutored me. I was recovering from chemo and radiation at the time, and decided with an "iffy" future, I wanted to do something that gave me joy. I also believe in this world we are here to put a hand out to anyone we can, and I do know many hands have been put out to me." Your encouragement to make use of PhotoShop in more ways than to just to correct the colour balance, the exposure and contrast is indeed to be commended and a subject very dear to me. PhotoShop has given photographers the power to express themselves in a way one could not dream about many years ago and has offered a new creative horizon to show the world around us. I hope you will continue to give pleasure to visitors of your portfolio for many, many years ahead. Thank you for sharing. f/v
