Description
An old wooden barn in the American West. Sepia toned with touches of color.
When I was new, I wore a coat of red.
When I was new, I sheltered Blaze, Old Bessie and a John Deere.
Life, children, hay and animals filled me with joy and usefulness.
Now that I am old, my boards creak in the Oklahoma wind, and each storm strikes terror in my heart.
Echos of neighs, lowing and laughs fill my emptiness. it seems like yesterday I was valued.
Each night I hear the whispers of the bare branches rubbing together in the breeze, saying, yesterday, yesterday.

Betty, The sepia tones in this are perfect for the subject. Love old barns. You have many images on FAA that appeal to me so much. I will return to comment more soon. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. F/V

This lovely photo really does justice to all similar barns all over North America. Thanks!
